Advanced Veterinary Care in Brentwood
From annual checkups to dental care, internal medicine and geriatrics, Brentwood Veterinary Clinic has all the veterinary services you need to keep your pet healthy and happy.
Behavior
Veterinary behavior services look for medical, environmental, and learned causes behind problem behaviors. We create practical, humane behavior modification plans, often combining training guidance, enrichment, and when needed, medicinal support to improve safety and quality of life at home.

Acupuncture
Veterinary acupuncture stimulates healing, improves circulation, and helps reduce pain in pets. It’s often used for arthritis, mobility issues, neurologic conditions, and post-surgical recovery, and it can complement medications, rehab, and other pain management plans.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Vaccinations
Core vaccinations are required for all cats and dogs, but non-core vaccines are optional depending on a pet’s risk factors. For dogs, non-core vaccines include Bordetella, Lyme, canine influenza, and canine leptospirosis.
Vaccines stimulate the pet’s immune system by producing a weakened antigen that triggers the pet’s body to produce antibodies that are designed to fight against the disease.
New puppies should come in for their first wellness exam at around six weeks of age, while kittens should come in at around eight weeks. During these visits, the veterinarian may opt to induce the first round of vaccines such as DHPP in dogs, and FVRCP in cats.
